Fire, Water and Ice

We had a lot of fun a couple of weeks ago at Fire, Water and Ice.
Lea's figure skating club was in the Parade where we live. She thought that was great fun. Over here in the parades they throw candy out for the kids who are watching. That was a new experience for me!
Then we worked the booth for the club most of the rest of the day.

Nater got to meet and talk to Derek Parra the US Gold Medalist in the the Olympics in Speed Skating. He just thought that was really cool. All in all was a good day.

Bri's Headstone

I miss her so much,
having her headstone laid this week has reminded me of just how much I miss her. It's really hard sometimes. Anyway I wanted to post a picture of what it looks like.

Nater and Lea brought flowers to put on her grave.
That was heartbreaking. They both really struggled when they saw the headstone.
We spent some time there just talking and came home. It's been a pretty rough week since.
It's so surreal sometimes. When I come home from anywhere I just expect to hear her cute voice calling for me to come get a hug right away...oh how I miss those hugs, and kisses and that cute little voice.

Happy Birthday to Lea (tomorrow)

Lea turns 12 tomorrow, so hard to believe! I thought I'd just post some pics of her and say Happy Birthday.
She's at Y.W. camp so I won't get to tell her until she gets back on Friday, but I did sneak a card into her backpack before she left.

When she was little she was fascinated by diamonds. So her Dad made her a promise when she was almost 3 that if she waited until she was 12 to pierce her ears, he would buy her diamonds. Well, she did. So she got her ears pierced exactly 6 weeks ago so when she gets home she will get her diamonds. I'm so proud of her for waiting, we always told her she could get them done whenever she wanted, BUT, if she waited she would get beautiful diamonds, and wait she did.
More importantly we hope this helps her in the future with waiting for other things she may want, or think she wants!

Hard times but good too......

This is the last picture I have of the three kids together. They were at Disney on Ice one week before Brianna passed away, (thanks to HopeKids!)
I'm not sure what to even post.....all of my posts in the last 3 years have been on Bri's carepage, which I'm not updating anymore.
Things are very different, and I never would have imagined how hard they would be, even almost 4 months later.
I miss her every day, mornings and evenings are really hard. Nater has a really hard time in the afternoon because that's when he usually crawled into bed with her to watch Spongebob or something else. Lea misses her the most when she gets home from skating, she used to go into Bri's room first to give her a hug and let her know she was home.
Nate and I are trying to find what a new normal is, but finding it very difficult.
Lea is still skating and doing very well, Nater will start back soon, once the oval is back up.
He will start back to school on the 26th in first grade, so he will be gone all day. Lea starts junior high the end of August. I can't believe she is that old already.
It's been a mix of emotions thinking about it because I suppose I just always assumed Bri would still be home with me........
Anyway, not sure if I'll even post this it may be too depressing, but I know I haven't been in touch really with all of our family. Maybe this post will shed some light on what's been going on and how we are all feeling....I don't know. I know it has to get better.
Maybe I can find some more cut pics to post.
